Wearable tech is a growth industry. It’s expected to be a $34 billion dollar industry by 2020 and we’re not just talking about the Apple Watch or the diminishing dominance of the Fitbit. We’re talking about connected devices that offer more than just your steps or heart rate. The field is wide open, even to cameras. Take the Nex Band for instance, an IFTTT capable wearable that gives you modular control over your connected devices and connected life.
Conceptually, the Nex Band is everything a wearable should be. It’s something that enables the user to control other things, rather than being a stand alone band that has one basic set of functions. The connectivity with IFTTT opens up a wealth of control option through the included modules. These Mods each have a color display, touch functionality including tapping and swiping and are fully programmable. Through the Nex iOS or Android app, each Mod can be tuned through what Nex calls Hacks, though they aren’t really hacks, they are just commanded behaviors. We’ll let that terminology slide cause it’s much cooler to hack your smart house tech than just control it.
